The art collective date-an-artist was founded in September 2010 at the creative lab Schmiede Hallein (AT) to design new ways of artistic social work and seek possibilities of monetizing creative expression and cultural brokerage. date-an-artist chose the socially, artistic and economically delicate topic ‘prostitution’ to provocatively address the situation of the majority of people working in the creative and artistic field, as well as traditional mindsets and prejudices in our society.

CLUB MINDFUCK

Minnie, Trixie & Bertl

“Club Mindfuck” is positioned in an urban art context and implies that young artists offer the service of a creative dialogue with the visitor, hence an unconventional way of experiencing and interacting with art. For a symbolic fee, one can purchase time with the artist. During the launch phase of this art project, the visitor can buy ten minutes of performance which is individually curated for each event.  Some artists act silently and others invite the art consumer to interact with the artist and therefore interfere with the content of the performance. “Club Mindfuck” preserves the participating artists’ anonymity. The artist collective’s vision is to form a movement of contributors and not to push for individual success.
